The chicken spiedies were great and although the group was small, everyone agreed that it was fun going down memory lane. We partied in the old whip building, went on the merry-go-round (it's fast), and took a ride on Jasper the Dragon who spouted smoke and let out a terrifying roar. (Okay it was an electric boat and the rest is an exaggeration.) Kudos to Sandy Laidlaw and Jim Baker who each snagged brass rings!

EFA '67 CLASS PICNIC - JULY 26, 2008

FOOD ! ! == MUSIC ! ! == FUN ! !

Folks who attended last year's 40th class reunion wanted to plan a picnic this summer to keep folks together between 5-year and 10-year reunions. We've pulled together a picnic at Eldridge Park for those who can make it:

WHEN: Saturday, July 26, 2008 - 4:00 to 8:00 pm
WHERE: Eldridge Park - in the old Whip Building

FOOD will be provided by Legends Catering and will include chicken spiedies, sausage with peppers and onions, potato salad, pasta salad, pizza, chips, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages (no alcohol is allowed in the park).

MUSIC will be provided by our own Pete Baker on his guitar and Jeff Etkind will be supplying lots of 60s and 70s music on CDs to fill in when Pete needs a break.

FUN can be had re-living old memories of the fun we had as kids at the park. You can ride the merry-go-round and grab the brass ring or take a ride around Eldridge Lake on Jasper, the dragon boat. The park is also having some special events that evening: the band Upstate Funk Machine will be playing and they will be screening the movie Space Jam.

In order to guarantee our food and beverage supply is adequate, we must ask you to register and pre-pay no later than Saturday, July 12. The cost is $15 per person (adults only, please) and checks should be made out to "EFA Class of 1967" and mailed to Dee Dee Shacter Dewey at:

678 Chambers Road - Horseheads, NY 14845 (her phone # is 607-739-8212)

We hope you can join us!

Elmira's population has decreased over 40% since we were born--your high school city is not the same anymore, to say the least. A wealth of statistics include population, climate, local government payroll, listing of schools, and maps.

Restaurants near EFA

Although Downtown Elmira has lost many business to the Mall and Consumer Square in Big Flats, there are still a lot of good local restaurants, some still going after 50 years but most are new within the last several years.
